Katahdin`s Knife Edge

September 5th of 1999 we took our turn amongst numerous other hikers.
Hearing that the park filled up by 5:30am the day before, we decided to arrive at the gate at 3:30am ending up the 12th vehicle in line. Which in itself was fun, there were people from NY. to Europe anxiously awaiting for the gate to open, just walking around getting the latest scoop on things.
The weather was very hot and dry with little wind. We started from Roaring Brook, on the Chimney Pond Trail, cutting up Dudley to Pamola then across the Knife Edge.
